The story of the heroic position of the Podolsk cadets outside Moscow in October 1941. The cadets were sent to the Ilyinsky Line and fought alongside units of the 43rd Soviet Army to stop the German advance until when the Germans arrived. Desperately outnumbered, the young men gave their lives in a battle that lasted nearly two weeks to prevent the advance of far superior German forces on Moscow. About 3,500 cadets and their commanders were sent to defend the last line of defense outside of Moscow. Most stayed there forever.
