How to use KeyTweak When you open KeyTweak, a keyboard image appears in the main window, with a menu bar, a mapping section, a keyboard control section, a special keys section, a standby section, and a button for switch between full and half learning mode. Here you can also access the KeyTweak manual from the Help menu. Note that the mapped keyboard is not specific to your keyboard; it is universal. Below the menu bar at the top of the window, the Remapper section includes a list of buttons and buttons currently mapped to restore defaults and show default settings; Keyboard control is where you can select a new remapping for the selected key. You can do this via the drop-down list and the Remap button. The special keys on the right side of the window allow you to reconfigure some (not all) special keys that your keyboard may have, such as video playback controls. Note that the changes you make to KeyTweak are global, so they will affect all users of the device. Full learn mode is an alternate method of mapping selected keys. When you click on the Full Learn Mode button, a new window opens. After clicking Start Learning Mode, you can select the button on the real handheld keyboard for one location (# 1) and the other key for the other location (# 2), then redirect # 1 to # 2. Half Teach is unnecessary as it is basically same method as the default button mapping mode. Does KeyTweak have any restrictions? Although it is an efficient program for changing keyboard functions, KeyTweak has some limitations. KeyTweak can’t map keys, so for example you won’t be able to map Ctrl-Alt-Del to a single key. It also cannot affect the function key of the laptop or the Pause / End key. Some users may also be annoyed that not all the specific keys on their keyboard are free key mapping programs.
